Buffy - Freshman Cherry Print Dress

 

In S04E01 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar can be spotted wearing a cherry print dress by Betsey Johnson. The dress is long and features peasant puffed sleeves and a tie front.

Buffy's Love affair with D&G

Slaying doesn't exactly pay the bills, but yet somehow Buffy manages to own some of the best designer clothing. I guess we now know where Dawn learned her five finger discount method of shopping.

Both the top and the wool plaid pants Buffy wears at the beginning of Halloween are by D&G. The biggest giveaway, for the top, is the logo on printed the back. If only the rest of her amazing wardrobe was as easy to identify.

Anya: Checkpoint

The beautiful wrap dress Anya wears in S05E12 is from the Diane Von Furstenberg fall 2000 collection. That must have set the costume department back a few.

The gorgeous dress is printed with what appears to be tree branches. DVF is well known for her wrap dresses. This is basically the mother of all wraps. Such a great choice by the wardrobe department.

Anna Paquin - Clover Canyon Jeweled Tapestry Dress

Anna Paquin looks absolutely stunning in this jeweled tapestry dress by Clover Canyon. She wore the dress, to an event in Beverly Hills, back in September of 2012.

It seems like Clover Canyon has become a hot label. I've seen quite a few pictures of quite a few celebrities wearing the clothing line. I too am a big fan of Clover Canyon. The dresses look super flattering and have intricate and unique prints.

Veronika Decides to Die & Burberry

I recently made an interesting discovery while looking through stills from "Veronika Decides to Die". I came across one photo that has Sarah Michelle Gellar wearing a casual quilted coat.

I have enlarged the visible lining, and it appears to be the iconic plaid print used by Burberry. I looked up "Burberry Quilted Jackets" and it turns out they make A LOT of similar coats.

It's hard to specify the exact coat Sarah Michelle Gellar wears, but it looks a bit like the "Burberry Brit Classic Quilted Jacket" in Black.

I doubt it is exact. The shape of the brit jacket looks more tapered, but it's also buttoned up. So it's hard to tell for sure. It doesn't help that there are just so many similar jackets by Burberry.

It would be pretty hard to find an authentic Burberry quilted coat, from 2008, since the net is so flooded with fakes. It wouldn't really be worth trying to find one, just to be left uncertain whether it's authentic or not. It's still a cute jacket, though.

True Blood: BCBGMAXAZRIA LuLu Cutout Bodice Gown

One of my favorite dresses ever worn on True Blood would have to be the BCBG Maxazria gown Nora wears in S05E09. It's a nice change of from the typical leather ensembles that are usually associated with vampires. A long tradition that most notably began with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The BCBG Maxazria Lulu gown is one of those long dresses that you want to buy on impluse, but know you will never have an event fancy enough to wear it. Especially if you are like me and wedding parties are out of the picture, because all your friends are either on their second or third marriage. The horrors of turning 31.

All around, Nora's character has really great clothes. The Elizabeth and James Usagi Dress in S05E11 was also quite darling. Season 5 basically left me wanting to own Nora's entire wardrobe. Tisk tisk. Poor Nora. You and your clothes will be missed, on the show.

Buffy Fashion On & Off the Set

During her time on set of the early seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, head costume designer Cynthia Bergstrom played a large role in picking out some of the most memorable and iconic pieces.

In the later seasons, Sarah Michelle Gellar would sometimes wear her own wardrobe pieces on set for shooting episodes. As a result, you can sometimes see her wearing some of the pieces in her every day life.

In this post, I thought it would be fun to point out a few of the pieces that she was seen wearing while out and about.

The bright purple and pink have Pam written all over it. Unfortunately, the shoes are no longer sold in stores. Usually, the only version of these heels that pop up online are the ones in solid black. signer and style. Shoes shopping for myself is usually a treacherous task, since I wear a size 10.

I miss the days when Pam was wearing cute pumps, Juicy Couture tracksuits and tweed jackets. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Pam's outfits has at times been limited to Walmart sweats and blue-gray prison jumpsuits. 

It will be interesting to see what stylistic choices Pam's character will have in the final season of True Blood. According to the sneak-peek trailer, It looks as though there is going to be a hell of a fight.

If Pam ends up having to take part in an epic battle, one thing is certain. She will look fabulous doing so!

Shopping does truly make bad days better. Sarah Michelle Gellar has amazing taste in fashion. I bet she would be the best person to go on a shopping trip. If I had the opportunity to choose any celebrity to go shopping with, it would absolutely be SMG.

Hopefully, I will one day have the opportunity to meet her and just tell her that she is an amazing person & how much BTVS impacted my life. :D In general, she would be just an amazingly awesome person to spend the day with an just chat.

Nerd Confession: Buffy Fandom

In 1999, while in high school, I started a Buffy fan page called the bronze.

It was somewhat popular and usually received a little over a hundred hits a day. The site isn't up, at its old spot, because geocities pretty much imploded. But I was able to snap a screenshot by using the internet database.

While running the site, my pen name changed quite a bit, but the one that stuck the longest was Rogue. I even wrote two pieces of fan fiction. If you ever need a good laugh, you can read the first part of my Buffy fanfiction here and the second part here.

I am still quite a big fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar and the show Buffy which is why you can expect to see quite a few fashion related posts on that topic. You can also expect to see True Blood related fashion posts.
